My time as a Financial Advisor was some of the most rewarding and fulfilling work of my life. So I’ve recently decided to resurrect my career in the finance industry as a Life Insurance Agent.
My Why
After I became an adult orphan by my 27th birthday, I experienced the importance of having life insurance.
In a manner of a few years, my mommy, dad, grandpa, and grandma passed away. I suffered from Prolonged Grief Disorder for five years and struggled with redefining my “normal” life.
My emotions were destructive to becoming the woman I was always destined to be. I did things that I’m not proud of and that my mother wouldn’t approve of. I was acting out of sorrow, anger, confusion, and emptiness.
My only saving grace is that they purchased life insurance to make sure that I didn’t also have to deal with being financially destitute.
I was able to extend my bereavement leave, buy my first house, handle some of my debt, and vacation to Hawaii.
Unfortunately in a four years, I was back at square one. The life insurance money ran out and I was back on the struggle bus.
Far too often this happens when an insufficient amount of life insurance is acquired. Although my family planned with insurance, it wasn’t enough o combat inflation and unexpected expenses.

When I was a Financial Advisor, my target customer were high net worth individuals. I didn’t get paid unless my client was already paid.
And while that’s just the name of the game, it left much to be desired for a woman who wants to serve her community.
How can I serve those who need it most when my success depends on lending my knowledge to the top 10%? I’ve always been all about my people, but my career seemed like the exact opposite.
As I have dealt with my fair share of financial affliction and was able to bounce back, I want to bring that same energy and expertise to my clients.
I want to make sure that the population of our people I would never consider speaking to as a Financial Advisor, receive the optimum customer service they deserve.
